Diaspora has placed me in Soldotna, Alaska where I serve as the Director of Education at Alaska Pacific University Indigenizing the curriculum in the Community and Place-Based Education and K8 Graduate certification program. I am married to a Norwegian and have three children. My family lives in Maizales (Naguabo). I am the first generation in my family to live stateside and speak English. It is important to me to reconnect with my Taino ancestry reclaiming the voice of my BisAbuela (the mean Indio). What was Solame's story? What is my story? I offer my gifts as an academic specializing in Indigenous Instructional Design and Decolonization research to support our Iukaieke while I humbly learn watching and listening to the elders of our tribe.
